Amrit Award
March 2008

Amrit Bumbra worked for Mainline Employment from May 95 to July 2006 when she sadly died after a long and hard fought battle with Cancer. She helped build the business from £1million to £7million turnover and would regularly stay at the office until a very late hour to fill bookings. Her commitment was evident to all she met including clients who warmed to her instantly. This helped build a reputation for Mainline that the company works hard to maintain. Amrit is sorely missed by all of her colleagues and to enable us to continue her good work and allow us to remember her; an award will be presented each year to a member of staff that works in the way Amrit always strived towards.
  • Punctuality
  • Smartness
  • Commitment
  • Ability to understand and be understanding to others
  • Hard work and 100% effort.
These are the qualities that Amrit looked for and led by example to everyone she worked with.

This year, the inaugural year, the award was presented to, fittingly, Amrit's daughter Geeta. Geeta stepped into the Branch Manager position only a few short months after losing her Mother and has taken the "Bull by the Horns" to show all the qualities Amrit also had in this position. Geeta is always in the office early and will stay with the consultants until the very last booking is filled. She listens to queries and criticisms and carefully decides her response showing natural leadership skills. Her commitment to development of new and existing business, staff training and general day to day management of the Bristol office is an example to us all. The winner of the award was, for all intents and purposes decided by Stella Weeks, the managing Director but staff from both offices agreed she is a worthy winner.

Runners up places where also awarded to Jo Harrington, Bristol Warehouse division and Nickie Simpkins, Swindon Warehouse division for an outstanding contribution to the divisions they work on and the company as a whole.
